WE LOVE: BILIBO

We gave Elliott a Bilibo for Christmas, and at first he didn't take to it like I hoped he would. But over time he has become more and more interested and has used it as a book container, a bath for his toys, puts it on his back and pretends to be a turtle, but usually he sits in it and spins himself around. We recently bought another one for friends to play with when they come over. It was becoming an issue. I've heard the Bilibo called "the cardboard box of the 21st century" and at first I was skeptical. Cardboard boxes are pretty rad. But we do love the Bilibo! It's awesome for Elliott's imagination and I love that it doubles as a toy and as toy storage!

AROUND HERE

This weekend, Elliott and I met up with a group of friends at a new park nearby. It was such a beautiful day and the park was perfect. There was something for everyone! Even a large grassy area (very rare in the city) where we shot off rocket balloons. I had never heard of them before, but they are awesome. The balloon flies up and around, and not just like the regular balloons fly around a room. I mean, these things fly! Across the large grassy area I was talking about. The kids loved chasing the balloon down and the moms loved the energy the kids used to fetch the balloon. It was a great day, and I guess spring is really here because I got a sunburn! First one of the year and hopefully my last.
We went on a few walks and enjoyed the amazing weather. And we saw The Hunger Games! I don't want to say too much, but wow. We loved it. Like, may pay the astronomical NYC movie theater prices to see it again, loved it. Did you see it? What did you think?

Hope you had a fantastic weekend!

HE SINGS!

Lately, Elliott has been putting on these concerts where he sings every song he knows. Which include Twinkle Twinkle Little Star, Old MacDonald, the theme song from his favorite cartoon, and a few others.
He always starts the show with such a look of concentration.
Then he does a "put your hands up in the air!" move. This really gets the crowd going!
Followed by more intense vocals and slurred words (he only thinks he knows all the words)
And this is how he let's us know the show is over. Every time. We call it the "I'm a gangsta" / Backstreet Boy move. Usually, after his gangsta finale, he does a few bows and says "Thank you! Thank you!" Regardless of whether anyone is clapping or even in the same room. It's our favorite form of entertainment.

HORSE PARTY - THE PARTY!

Elliott's horse party was finally this past weekend! It was kind of crazy, but a lot of fun. I wanted some of the colors (most of them were white and black) to be brighter than normal horse colors (brown? no thanks!) so of course I went with neon. Not a ton, but just enough for a pop of color. We had horse sandwiches, pin the neon tail on the horse, horse coloring, and of course cake and presents! Elliott and his friends had a really good time, again, it was crazy. Overall a birthday success!

p.s. Don't you love how kids crowd around when it's time to open presents? Hilarious!
