DIY PAPER ROLL BINOCULARS

I made these binoculars for Elliott the other day. He calls them his "eye scope" and they go everywhere with him. To the store, to the park, to bed. These binoculars have seen it all!
They were super easy to make and now that I am looking back on it, I didn't really have to paint them either! A little washi tape and they would have looked pretty much the same. Ah, well! Maybe the next pair. These would also make fantastic party favors for little ones for a safari party or something. Just sayin'. Check out the tutorial over on Momtasic. Seriously, your littles will love them!

DIY CHECKERS!

I grew up always playing checkers with my older sister. It holds a special place in my heart. But there aren't very many cool checker boards out there, so I made my own! I actually made this one for Preston for Father's day. Hope he loves it as much as I do!
Here's how you can make your own. Get yourself some wood. Mine was 2x2 and I had it cut down to 1x1 pieces. I measured out where I wanted the actual board to be, and taped it off. I used a pencil to lightly mark the grid and painted accordingly. The pieces are just wood discs from the craft store that I spray painted white and then taped off and painted with some neon paints. The great thing about this project is that it's super cheap, easy to do and who doesn't love checkers?

DIY TABLETOP PUPPET THEATER

A few years ago, I made a fabric puppet theater that hangs in the doorway, but Elliott can't reach the window. So it is always the adults who are putting on the show. Where's the fun in that? So I made him this cardboard theater to keep on his table so he can put shows on for us for a change!
I used one of those cardboard presentation boards, measured and cut out the window and covered it with duct tape. Easy peasy! The bonus about using the duct tape is it makes the theater a little bit sturdier for little hands. I also love that it is pretty compact and fits just about anywhere when it's not in use. Perfect for our tiny apartment! We have had a lot of fun with it so far and I am sure we have many-a-puppet show in the future.

DIY PAINTED MASON JAR VASE

I love mason jars and I really love them as vases. Especially with a little color added to them! For me, they are the perfect size for a few flowers to add a little bit of loveliness to our apartment. I made a painted mason jar vase and am sharing the tutorial over on momtastic if you are interested. I promise it is just as simple and easy as a tutorial gets! Happy Tuesday!
