DIY LEATHER COLOR BLOCKED BOOKMARKS

I had some leather scraps and decided I needed a few bookmarks. These are so simple to make and would make a great stocking stuffer for a book addict.
Some supplies you will need:
Scrap leather
Rotary blade
Cutting mat
Foam brush
Acrylic paint
Tape
Clear glaze sealant

Cut the leather into the bookmark shape you want. Mine are about 1.5 inches wide and 5 inches long.
Tape off the area you want to paint and go to town! Make sure to give yourself plenty of room for error by adding more tape so you don't get paint where it is unwanted.
Peel off the tape and make sure it's completely dry. I added a clear glaze over the paint to help seal it in and keep it from cracking.
And you're done! I am in love with the blue color. So pretty.

DIY CHECKERS!

I grew up always playing checkers with my older sister. It holds a special place in my heart. But there aren't very many cool checker boards out there, so I made my own! I actually made this one for Preston for Father's day. Hope he loves it as much as I do!
Here's how you can make your own. Get yourself some wood. Mine was 2x2 and I had it cut down to 1x1 pieces. I measured out where I wanted the actual board to be, and taped it off. I used a pencil to lightly mark the grid and painted accordingly. The pieces are just wood discs from the craft store that I spray painted white and then taped off and painted with some neon paints. The great thing about this project is that it's super cheap, easy to do and who doesn't love checkers?

MINI INSTAGRAM BOOKS

I posted about these little books a while back and decided to order some as gifts for some loved ones. I instagramed about them a few days ago and got quite a few requests for more info. So here it is! You can get them from here, and it was unbelievably easy to order. You pick the pictures you want to include and they come as plain white little books (at least mine did) so I decorated the covers with some stickers and some hole punched contact paper.
I wont divulge who these little books are going to as they're supposed to be a Christmas gift. So hopefully they wont peek! But I wanted to share these with you as they would make a fantastic gift for pretty much anyone. Oh, and bonus! They're magnetic!
