PRINTABLE OSCARS POSTERS

While I was planning our Oscars party for this year, it occurred to me that there are three essential parts to the evening. The red carpet, the anticipation of who will win the award and the thank you speech. I thought it would be fun to capture those moments in some giant posters! Like the slingshot target poster, these are printed out at Staples on the engineering printer. They are great quality and really affordable. I'm not having a lot of decorations at this years party, but these posters and some balloons should do the trick. Don't you think? You can download all three below and per usual, these are just for you and your party friends for personal use only. Thanks pal!

We are in full oscars party mode. Well, I am. I have a couple of fun DIYs and downloads coming up over the next few days to help make your oscars party awesome. And if you weren't planning on throwing an oscars party, you probably should. These cups are really easy to make and will make all of your party guests feel like a winner. The little statue silhouette you can download here. Just print it out onto some card-stock, cut it out and use it as your template. Here is what you will need to make your own award worthy party cups!

Gold paper cups (mine are from the party store)

Print out the template, cut it out and trace it onto the back of a piece of the black contact paper. Then cut out your silhouettes and stick them onto the cups! Seriously easy, folks.

ELLIOTT IS FIVE

birthday 1-1.jpg

My boy is officially five years old and I have some serious mixed feelings about it. Part of me wanted to leap for joy for him while the other part sobbed into a pillow. How on earth is he five? I still can't believe it. To celebrate our little man we had a party and a picnic. He wanted a space themed birthday party and luckily the place we wanted to have the party has a space themed party room. It was meant to be. The kids got to play till their little hearts could take no more, then we moved into the party room for cupcakes and gifts. I normally would throw the party at our house, but this was a nice change of pace. It was so much easier than worrying about cleaning, decorating, preparing food, etc. Not to mention our place is pretty small so parties feel a bit like sardines in a can. On Sunday - his actual birthday - his only request was to have a picnic in the living room. Done! It was so easy and a lot of fun. He loved every minute of it. Here are a few pictures from his birthday weekend.

SPACE PARTY INVITES

Space Party Invites

Elliott decided he wanted a space birthday party this year so space it is! I am so relieved that my kid doesn't want a cartoon character themed party. Call me a bad parent, but I am pretty sure I would refuse if he asked for that. I found some moon stress balls for super cheap and thought they would be the perfect fun element to send to our friends to get them excited for the party. They are a little darker than I would expect the moon to be. They kind of look more like meteors. Right? Either way, they work! I made a quick and simple invite to attach to them and sent them on their way. I blocked out the address information for this post for kind of obvious reasons. I hope our friends love them as much as we do!

NEW YEAR'S PARTY DRINKS + HATS

I hope you all had a very merry Christmas! Now on to the new year. These are so much fun! Not to mention super easy to make. We plan on using them for New Year's day for a little breakfast or brunch. I am still coming up with my own resolutions, but I have a few I want to force on Elliott. Kind of defeats the purpose though I guess. If you want to make some for your family, you can see the resolution cups tutorial over here, and the party hats over here! Happy partying and happy new year my friends!
