DIY LEATHER EASTER BASKET

The last Easter DIY. Just in time! I wanted a basket that I didn't hate the look of and would use year round, so I came up with this! I went with a raindrop (or teardrop if you're a glass half empty type) shape and some neon stitching. So, yeah. I'm kind of in love with it. Don't be intimidated by the leather (I was once) It's seriously easy to make and doesn't take very long at all. Don't believe me? Click on over to Momtastic and I'll prove it.

DIY BUNNY MASK

I made this little bunny mask for Elliott's Easter basket but then needed him to model it for me. He'll probably forget about it and it will be like he's seeing it for the first time again, right? Just tell me yes. I also made him a panda mask using the same method. I love them both! You can make your own for your little one's Easter with the full tutorial over here on Momtastic.

DIY BUNNY SURPRISE BALL

I couldn't help myself. It had to be done. A surprise ball bunny style! They are always a hit and are obviously popular with our family and well, I just love making them. As evidenced here and here. Now make your own bunny surprise ball, will ya?
First, gather your trinkets you want to include. Stickers and bouncy balls are great. A little hint, start with the biggest and bulkiest item and work your way out to the smallest and thinnest item. It makes for a smoother ball in the end.
Cut some strips of crepe paper. I usually do about 1/2 inch strips. They are just easier to work with and make the ball smoother on the outside. Tape the strips and start wrapping! You will need to use tape to keep the strips in place and to start a new strip. I suggest clear tape, but some fun washi tape could look cute too!
Cut out some relatively the same size bunny ears.
Attach the ears in the back with either tape or glue.
Using some tissue paper or crepe paper, cut out and glue on the little face.
Do you see now how I couldn't resist?

EASTER TREAT BAG DOWNLOADS

Keeping on with the downloads lately (it's amazing how owning a printer can change your projects) I decided to make a few printable treat bags for Easter. Fill them with candy, popcorn, pretzels or carrots (bunny food) and use them as basket fillers or party favors, or what have you. You may recognize this little guy. I felt it a shame not to use him again. My bags were 4.75 inches x 6.2 inches so when I printed them out I adjusted the document size accordingly. So you will need to do the same depending on the size of bags you decide to print out. Also, keep in mind that the bag will feed into printers differently. I had to feed my bags in the open side first and it worked out fine for me, but some printers can be fickle. You may need to flip the images to be able to print them out with the closed end of the bag first. Make sense? Good!
Here are the downloads! Enjoy!

WE LOVE: OUR EGGS

Besides the tattooed eggs, we have been having fun taking our egg decorating up a few notches beyond the normal dying. With a little bit of tape, paint, glitter, and a pencil eraser, we went to town and love the outcome. These are a few of my personal favorites. We were going to dye them and then add embellishments, but why mess with the perfection that is white? Apparently I am fond of the mint + peach combo these days. It's pretty, right?
