This weekend was so much fun. We went to Elliott's little girlfriend's dance recital which was awesome. There isn't anything a whole lot cuter than 4 year old girls dancing around in tutus. Yesterday was Mother's day for my mom. She was out of town for Mother's day so we celebrated this weekend. Complete with tacos, gifts, chocolate cake and a piñata. The piñata was a blast! Even the adults took turns smashing it. I think we will have to make that a new family tradition. Father's day, Halloween, Christmas, all will be piñata holidays. Elliott decided his gift to his granny would be an original painting. And he decided that he should paint a hot lava roller coaster. Can you see it? Hope your week is off to a great start!

This weekend was fantastic! I was spoiled rotten. On Friday, Elliott and I spent the day with some friends (specifically his girlfriend - yes, he's taken) and Saturday was spent running errands, doing chores and spoiling me. Mother's Day? More like Mother's weekend! Sunday was filled with amazing food including this, and oh so thoughtful gifts like some framed art from little man and these lights! Preston made them for me and hung them over my new desk! That man. He knows me so well. We're going to add a third light and I think I will paint the lids to add a bit of color. I love them! It took a while to explain to Elliott that the gifts were for me and there weren't any for him. But I did let him open a few for me. I hope all you mama's had a great Mother's Day! Happy Monday!

The last few days were pretty packed. Not really any time for relaxing, but that's the way it goes sometimes! Saturday was filled with grocery stores, haircuts and various errands. Sunday we went on a nice walk and my boy picked me some flowers (weeds), and we saw one of our favorite houses in our neighborhood. It really is the best little neighborhood. The houses are all so unique and pretty. After our walk home from church, we drove up to help my parents move into their new home. They have the best backyard! Elliott and his cousins played outside happily for hours on end. It was glorious! This week will be fun too. Lots of mama's day DIYs coming up! Happy Monday!

Mother's day is on Sunday. Being a mom is a lot of work and a lot of responsibility  We are molding these little ones and setting an example of who they can be. Kind of scary at times. This clip is a good example of how moms can set a great example for their kids. Pretty touching stuff! This is a sponsored post. Thank you for supporting Ardor and our sponsors!

The last few days were beautiful. I got all of my projects done a little early so we were able to play! Preston surprised me with a date night complete with a sitter. What? Yes. Saturday we did a bit of shopping and (drum roll please) we built our new grill! And we even had an excuse to use it on Sunday night with some friends that came over. But what we didn't realize was that our propane tank is more of a tank and not so much propane. Yep, it wasn't filled! Blerg. So we cooked our burgers on the stove one last time. Elliott sported a new tie to church and I absolutely love it. But more importantly so does he! So much so that he didn't want to take it off for hours afterward. I didn't complain. I mean, it's a great tie, right? But I did complain about the marker whiskers he made sure to draw on his face right before leaving. As you can imagine. You might be wondering what the little happy mountain is. Well I'll tell you. But not yet! It's part of a little DIY I am doing and wouldn't want to ruin the fun surprise. But isn't he cute? I thought so. Happy Monday!

P.S. For those wondering, I got the tie here on awesome sale.

The SLC Pop-Up Shop was awesome! If you didn't make it by and could have, shame on you. But I think they will put on another one soon so you can remedy that mistake. The vendors were incredible and the customers were so kind and in general awe of the amazing goods being sold. Also, waffle love was there which was as always, a huge hit. We got our own stash of goods and are in love with them all. The decorations were awesome, Brittany made the most amazing SLC pinatas, and her giant flowers sold out in no time. It was a grand time and a great success. You'll notice Elliott's face of sadness above. He and Preston came to visit me during the day (mostly to get waffles I think) but Elliott's girlfriend (she's also four and pretty much his best friend) was there and they embraced and played and colored on their faces and hands. Then Elliott left for a while and when they came back, his little lady was already gone. Hence the sad face and the war paint. That night we watched a movie as a family and just relaxed and Sunday we had a BBQ with some friends and did some more relaxing. Overall it was a fantastic weekend. Happy Monday!

P.S. The first picture was borrowed from the amazing Nic Miller. I'm in the way back, can you see me?
