AROUND HERE

The last few days have been great. We spent a lot of time playing and reading. It was Dr. Seuss' birthday, so we read just about every seuss book we have as well as watched a few seuss movies. Elliott made the most amazing train track. I thought that it must have been Preston who made it, but he says it was all Elliott. I think we have a future architect on our hands. We also did some painting for an upcoming project I am excited to share with you. Elliott was able to help on this one and he loved it! Also, Elliott finally got a hair cut! Just look at that handsome boy.

This weekend I had a hankering for some key lime pie. Being from Florida, this was something that was easy to come by, but my favorite key lime pie probably ever was from Publix. If you are from the south or have visited, you probably know what I'm talking about. Publix has the best..everything. If you are near a Publix, please find it in your heart to go, buy a key lime pie, and send it to me. I'll love you forever.

Well, this weekend pretty much rocked. My birthday was great. And the oscars party which turned out to double as a birthday party, was amazing! Our friends were oh so creative with the desserts they came up with and many of the nominees I was rooting for won! I will have a mini recap oscars party post soon with more information on the incredible desserts and a few more details. Also this weekend, Elliott discovered just how awesome crazy straws are. It's hilarious to watch him with them! Happy Monday!

This weekend was full of game night, dancing, and a trip to the airport to welcome Preston's brother. Of course we had to make a sign. He will be only be with us for a few days, but we are happy he is here! On friday Elliott and I ate brussel sprouts for lunch. It is by far his favorite vegetable. He literally will eat an entire plate of them and still ask for more. Of course, they have to be roasted. Isn't everything better roasted? Today we are spending the day with Elliott's cousins and my mom. It's bound to be a lot of fun! Happy president's day!

This weekend was awesome. We had a grand time celebrating Elliott's birthday with family and friends. He loved everything about the day. Which of course, does a mama's heart good. Saturday night was very snowy and the roads were slick and I had no desire to leave the house. But Elliott was insisting that he wanted Cafe Rio for dinner (atta boy!) so out we went. Not one block from our house, we slipped on the ice and couldn't stop the car before we hit another car. I was a mess! Even though there was no damage to either car (miracle!) I was still taking deep breaths and shaking slightly 30 minutes later. Of course Preston was the calm and cool one, and Elliott was just worried he wasn't going to get his beloved quesadilla. Besides the little fender non-bender, we have been watching Peter Pan on repeat (a gift he received and loves!) and rocking out with his new not-so-electric guitar. It was a great few days. I'm going through all of the pictures from Elliott's party, so look for those soon! Happy Monday!

This weekend was filled with errands, work, successful thrifting (yay!), dinner with an old friend, and of course the big game. Did your team win? I loved the commercials of course. This one was particularly fantastic. I finally got Elliott's birthday invites finished and mailed out, and worked a bit on some upcoming projects for the blog that I am pretty excited about. This week will be filled with a little party prep, a few Valentine related projects and a lot of silliness with the boy. I'm excited! Hope you had a great weekend. Happy Monday!
