AROUND HERE

What a great couple of days! We had fun hitting up the farmers market and some local shops, meeting up with good friends and of course, had a lot of play time. The dog pictured is my parent's dog, Ruby. Elliott's new best friend! He follows her everywhere. He plays with her, gives her hugs and bosses her around. Like a true friend. We're starting to get into a routine of sorts, which is nice. I am really loving being able to drive around again. So liberating! I'm excited for when we get settled into our new apartment which has yet to be rented or even discovered. But for now, we're enjoying life! I hope your week is off to a great start. Happy Monday!

AROUND HERE

Happy Monday! We have been having a great time here and Elliott could not be happier to be around my parents and his cousins again. My parents have the best yard for kids with a little pond and stream for them to play in and a swingset and slide. Elliott's in heaven! We had a great fourth of July too. Oh and we got a car! I can't tell you how much I have missed driving. We're still in "transit" so posts will continue to be spotty, but hopefully less so. I hope your week is off to a great start!

AROUND HERE

I hope you all had a great weekend and Father's day! We had a grand time spoiling Preston. Elliott and I made him breakfast, gave him a few gifts (the checkers board was a hit!), and I made dinner. As you can see it had something to do with a whole chicken. This was my first time dealing with a chicken that hadn't been skinned, gutted and boned, and packaged. I know, I'm such a pansy! In my defense, I once had to assist a chicken farmer in Argentina kill and pluck a couple of chickens. Which was obviously far worse than preparing a chicken for dinner. Nonetheless, it was gross but doable and absolutely worth it. The meal was delicious! For dessert I made chocolate chip cookie ice cream sandwiches which as I mentioned, are his two favorite desserts in one. So, yes. They were a hit as well! It really was a fantastic weekend. We love you to the moon, Preston.

AROUND HERE

I wasn't planning on posting today, but I find myself with a few minutes of down time (huzzah!) Hope your long weekend is going swimmingly. We have been working on a few crafts and enjoying some beautiful flowers we picked up on the street the other day. Also, we bought our first grill! We used it for the first time on Sunday. This is the first time we have had an apartment with a back yard, so we finally got one and might I say, I will never go back to pan made turkey burgers again! So, so good. It's been a really great weekend and we're still enjoying our day off. Happy memorial day!
