OUR LITTLE CHRISTMAS

I hope you all had a very merry Christmas. We sure did! Elliott was more into this year than in years past. He was the best to watch open presents. With every gift (even boring clothes!) he gasped and said something along the lines of "Oh, wow! That's so cool!" What a champ. We had a great time in the morning as just our little family. In the afternoon we headed out to spend the rest of the day with family and had a wonderful time. This year we made a few gifts, bought a few gifts and were gifted a muppet! Our dear friend sent us this muppet for our whole family to enjoy and we definitely have been! We made sure to include all of our traditions from previous years including our sausage in a blanket breakfast and watching "It's A Wonderful Life" on Christmas eve. Christmas is such a magical time and this year was the magical-est (not a word - I know). Merry Christmas!

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

We're just heading out the door to go trick or treating and have all sorts of ghoulish fun. Elliott opted to be an orange horse this year, as opposed to last year's regular horse costume. So an orange horse he is! Preston was Clark Kent for a party last weekend, but Elliott insisted he be a blue cowboy for Halloween (he's kind of obsessed with favorite colors) And I am supposed to be a cow. Which I am not doing. I have to draw the line somewhere! I hope you have a fun and safe all hallows eve!

TUSCON AND BACK

Last week we went down to Tuscon to visit some family and we had an absolute blast. As it turns out, Arizona actually has some pretty parts! We went hiking, went to the zoo (fed a giraffe!) and had some birthday fun. Elliott really loved meeting and getting to know some of his other cousins. And true to form, he busted his lip. It has to be something, right?  We'll definitely be heading down again soon. Maybe for a mid-winter escape? That sounds about right.

CAR WASH + HAPPY WEEKEND

With having a car again comes the needed and oh so fun car wash! It's such a great warm weather activity and Elliott absolutely loved helping. And of course, I'm game for any activity that involves my boy in his swim shorts :)

I hope you have a great weekend, friends. We have some plans I'm pretty excited about. Fun and relaxing. Doesn't get much better than that! Happy weekend! Here are my favorite links for the week, enjoy!

Grilled peaches just might go with everything.

Beautiful DIY shelving.

Drum box!

Haha!

Pretty, pretty curtain rods.

Awww.

Love these cubes.

AROUND HERE

I hope you all had a great weekend and Father's day! We had a grand time spoiling Preston. Elliott and I made him breakfast, gave him a few gifts (the checkers board was a hit!), and I made dinner. As you can see it had something to do with a whole chicken. This was my first time dealing with a chicken that hadn't been skinned, gutted and boned, and packaged. I know, I'm such a pansy! In my defense, I once had to assist a chicken farmer in Argentina kill and pluck a couple of chickens. Which was obviously far worse than preparing a chicken for dinner. Nonetheless, it was gross but doable and absolutely worth it. The meal was delicious! For dessert I made chocolate chip cookie ice cream sandwiches which as I mentioned, are his two favorite desserts in one. So, yes. They were a hit as well! It really was a fantastic weekend. We love you to the moon, Preston.
