DIY LEATHER EASTER BASKET

The last Easter DIY. Just in time! I wanted a basket that I didn't hate the look of and would use year round, so I came up with this! I went with a raindrop (or teardrop if you're a glass half empty type) shape and some neon stitching. So, yeah. I'm kind of in love with it. Don't be intimidated by the leather (I was once) It's seriously easy to make and doesn't take very long at all. Don't believe me? Click on over to Momtastic and I'll prove it.

DIY BUNNY MASK

I made this little bunny mask for Elliott's Easter basket but then needed him to model it for me. He'll probably forget about it and it will be like he's seeing it for the first time again, right? Just tell me yes. I also made him a panda mask using the same method. I love them both! You can make your own for your little one's Easter with the full tutorial over here on Momtastic.

AN APRON

Taking a small break from all the Easter projects (don't worry, there is more to come!) My sweet little niece turned five the other day. I knew that she would be receiving an easy bake oven and instantly thought "she needs an apron!" So an apron she got. Since I don't sew (have you noticed that?) I found this kid-sized white apron at the craft store for a few bucks and decided to put her name on it. Because what child doesn't love anything with their name on it? I dare you to find one. I made a design, printed it out and went to town with my exacto knife, freezer paper and glittery gold fabric paint. It was the perfect project while watching my "mommy shows" as Elliott calls them. I hope she loves it as much as I enjoyed making it!

DIY BUNNY SURPRISE BALL

I couldn't help myself. It had to be done. A surprise ball bunny style! They are always a hit and are obviously popular with our family and well, I just love making them. As evidenced here and here. Now make your own bunny surprise ball, will ya?
First, gather your trinkets you want to include. Stickers and bouncy balls are great. A little hint, start with the biggest and bulkiest item and work your way out to the smallest and thinnest item. It makes for a smoother ball in the end.
Cut some strips of crepe paper. I usually do about 1/2 inch strips. They are just easier to work with and make the ball smoother on the outside. Tape the strips and start wrapping! You will need to use tape to keep the strips in place and to start a new strip. I suggest clear tape, but some fun washi tape could look cute too!
Cut out some relatively the same size bunny ears.
Attach the ears in the back with either tape or glue.
Using some tissue paper or crepe paper, cut out and glue on the little face.
Do you see now how I couldn't resist?

DIY EASTER HUNT EGGS

One of my favorite parts of Easter is the egg hunt! Remember how we've been kind of obsessed with temporary tattoos? Well, I thought I would make some special eggs with little messages for the kids to enjoy. They are basically temporary tattoos for eggs. Sweet, right? I thought it would be fun to have some fun phrases as well as the traditional "happy easter" on them. My favorite ones are "you found me" and "you crack me up". To make your own, just download the templates and print them off onto tattoo paper. I used this paper and they turned out perfectly! Follow the instructions on the paper (minus the silhouette cutter - unless you are super fancy like that), cut them out and put them on! You can download the templates here and here for personal use and make sure you have a blast with them. Otherwise, what's the point?
If you like these, you should check out these fancy ones Jordan made. So pretty! We had a blast making our eggs and can't wait to use them. Happy hunting!
