GIFT GUIDE: LITTLE LADY

It's time for this year's gift guide! The holiday gift guide is a series of posts focusing on individuals of my (and possibly your) family. To kick it off, I wanted to start with the little lady (my niece.) The doll house is killing me! I would gift it with some awesome fabrics to make curtains and bedspreads with. The bilibo is nothing new, but the silver is! It's a limited edition and I am so tempted.

WE LOVE: MINI KICK

It's been a long time coming, but finally here is the post about Elliott's beloved scooter. We got him a mini kick scooter over a year ago, but up until recently he hasn't really had anywhere to ride it. Not that that ever stopped him from riding around the apartment, running into walls. We love it because it's compact (you can take the handle bars off for easy storage!) and it's totally transportable. He loves it because it makes his "legs go super fast!" It's kinda perfect for us.
After a ride, he likes to top it off with a bowl of greek yogurt and raspberries (yum!)

PUMPKINS!

The other night we had a pumpkin carving fest. Elliott insisted he have a "happy pumpkin" so that's what he got. Preston is an absolute pro with these things. Me on the other hand, I went the cookie cutter route. I have a triangle cutter and went to it with a hammer. Word to the wise, use the cookie cutter before you hollow out the pumpkin. It works SO much better. Also, it helps if you have someone helping you to hold the pumpkin in place while you hammer. My fingers can attest to that. I think they turned out well but more importantly, we had a blast doing carving them.

HOW WE ENGORGED A HORSE (TOY)

Last week while wandering the dollar bins at Target I came across this little horse. On the packaging it stated that if you put it in water for a few days you would get a huge horse (in comparison). I used to get those pills that you put in water and they would turn into dinosaur sponges etc. I loved them! So I thought I would test this one out with the little man. Here's what happened:
Honestly, I liked it better before the engorging. But Elliott likes it and I suppose that's all that should matter. Anyway, it was a dollar well spent and a fun experiment.

P.S. Notice the placement of the hole the water came out of? Nice, Target.

DIY DRY ERASE MATS + FREE DOWNLOADS

I spent the good part of a day making little dry erase sheets for Elliott to color and write on and thought "Hey! Why not make them a download?" So that I did. Of course, I'm not including the one that has Elliott's name on it, but you could easily make that one yourself. Just download the one(s) you want, print them out on card-stock and get them hard laminated. Oh, and the markers are washable dry erase markers I picked up at our local craft store. After that you are good to go! Elliott has loved his and I hope your littles love them too. They're fun for not so littles too (hence the last picture). Clean up is so easy. Just wipe it with a wet paper towel, or by my preferred method, just rinse them off in the sink. Enjoy!
