his glass slipper

The other day, Elliott decided it would be a swell idea to stick his foot into Preston's glass he keeps on his nightstand. Of course like the great mama I am, I snapped a few pictures and laughed instead of helping him in his distress.

Do you have kids who stick body parts in strange places..or strange things into body parts? I hear this is probably the first of many incidents :)

NOTE: No toddler feet were harmed in the making of this post.

a party, a horse and a toddler

The other night, we went to a Halloween party. Elliott was and will be tonight... a horse of course! He absolutely loved the festivities and everyone (even a baby dressed like a puppy) was "scary". He got a chance to practice his "trick-or-treat" and "thank you!" 's which made me a very proud mama. Right before we left to head to the party, his zipper on the costume broke, hence the open chest look. Let's just say he's a stylin' v neck horsey.
A horse eating an apple...so typical.
A toddler finishing off roll 5 of smarties...so very typical.

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

chalkin' it up in the hood

Yesterday was absolutely gorgeous outside. So Elliott and I went for a walk and then I introduced him to something completely new to him: SIDEWALK CHALK!

It was of course a huge hit, but not just with Elliott. Every adult and child that walked by smiled at us and said something like "I remember doing that..." or "Wow, how fun!" or "What a great mom!" *blush* Even the cross-walk lady came over and reminisced about her sidewalk chalking days. It was pretty much the hit of the neighborhood. Some people even joined in. It was great!
And here he is yelling, "Hello over there!" to complete strangers who then crossed the street, and drew a rainbow. It was a pretty awesome afternoon.

p.s. Thank heavens chalk comes out in the wash. It was in/on everything!
