PLAY TEEPEES

IMG_2996.jpg

With Thanksgiving coming up I wanted to make some teepees for Elliott to have some fun with. They are seriously so easy to make and the little ones will love them. You and the kids can decorate them however you want, no matter how they are decorated they'll be loads of fun! You can see all the details on how to make your own over here on The Neighborhood

THANKSGIVING COLORING SHEETS

Remember these erasable coloring sheets? Well, I decided we needed some more! And since it's turkey season, why not make them Thanksgiving related? You can print them out and color them on paper, or you can take the extra step and hard laminate them so the kiddos can color them again and again. Either way, the littles will love them. My favorite is the turkey. So cute and so round. The ship and the teepee were obviously a group coloring effort. Again, fun! Hope you love them as much as we do! You can download all three below.

CONSTELLATION FLASHLIGHT DISCS

I don't know anyone who doesn't love star gazing. With this flashlight and discs you can bring the star gazing inside! Though the shorter days can really bum me out, I thought I should make it a little more fun for Elliott. This DIY is so easy and fun to use. Not to mention it's educational! It will work for pretty much any shape you desire to cast on the wall, but the constellations are pretty awesome. You can see the full tutorial over here on Handmade Charlotte

ELLIOTT + E.T. COSTUME

After the skeleton idea went out the window (fickle child) we were pretty excited when Elliott decided he wanted to be Elliott for Halloween. As in Elliott from E.T. And yes, they spell their names the same. This is the easiest and totally practical costume. We had just about everything he needed already and what he didn't have, is completely usable after Halloween! I love it. The E.T. doll would probably be the hardest thing to find. Elliott was given it when he was born (it's a family favorite) but if you can find the doll, the rest is a cake walk. When someone asks Elliott what he is going to be for Halloween he replies "I'm going to be Elliott from E.T. at the ending when E.T. goes home." Such a clear explanation. To attach the milk crate to the bike, I just used a couple of zip-ties. Worked like a charm. And if using a bike seems like too much of a hassle, you can just attach the milk crate to the jeans with a belt! Hands free for candy grabbing. It's all about the candy grabbing.

This is Elliott's impression of what it would be like to start flying on a bike with E.T. Scared at first, then hands in the air having a blast. Man I love this kid.

SPOOKY DUCT TAPE TREAT BAGS

Ok, so they're not so spooky, but I do love them. I made these a few weeks ago and Elliott has been begging me to make more. They are so easy to make, there's really no reason not to make them! They are great as party favor bags for little ones, or just to deliver Halloween treats to friends. If you have some black bags you could make some fun little vampire bats or black cats with some white tape. So fun!
