Here are my three favorite parts of the day (with Elliott): When he wakes up yelling "Good Morning!", when he goes to bed (relief!) and bath time. He takes a bunch of his animals, lines them up on the side of the tub and counts them over and over. Of course, the horse is his favorite, hence the kiss :) I'd love to know, what are your favorite parts of the day?

Friends, what are you doing this labor day weekend? Have any fun "say goodbye to summer" plans? We're planning a little excursion downtown, having dinner with some friends, and hopefully a little relaxing. Whatever you do for labor day I hope you have a great weekend!

calm before the storm

It's the day before Hurricane Irene is supposed to arrive in our area and of course it is a beautiful day. The calm before the storm. Even though we are still unpacking (I know, we're so slow!) I really wanted to take Elliott to the park for a while since it will probably be impossible to get out and play for the next few days. Growing up in Florida, we became quite accustomed to preparing for and dealing with hurricanes. But for some reason being up here in Hoboken waiting for Irene to rear her ugly (and rather large) head, I feel a little helpless. We have several places we can go to evacuate if necessary, but I am thinking we might ride it out here. We'll see! 

Anyone who may be affected by the storm, be safe. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all. Take care everyone and have a great (safe) weekend!

**UPDATE**
We had a mandatory evacuation, so we left home but we're safe and doing well. Stay safe everyone!

Friends, what are you up to this weekend? We are still very busy settling into our new apartment. But it's coming along nicely :) We are planning to spend part of tomorrow roaming the city though. It took me a while a minute before I came to the conclusion that these little guys are (unfortunately) not real. Wouldn't that be crazy amazing? Friends, what are your plans this weekend? I am happy to say that we are officially not homeless! More on the long, crazy story later. We'll be spending this weekend painting, moving in and hopefully getting settled in our new apartment. I know that doesn't sound all too exciting, but after being homeless for nearly 3 weeks, it's pretty freaking exciting to us :) Have a great weekend friends, whatever you do!

Friends, what are you doing this weekend? We are squeezing in all the family time we can with my side of the family before we leave for New York on Monday. happy 4th of july weekend!

Happy 4th of July weekend, friends! The 4th is one of my favorite holidays. We spend the day at the park where we eat, play, attend the various events held at the park and of course, watch the fireworks! Do you have any 4th of July traditions? I hope you have a great long weekend friends!
