AROUND HERE

We had a pretty low-key but fun weekend. Again. Elliott caught my bug, so we have been taking it easy. But we did manage to read some books, make some cookies and carve and decorate our pumpkins! It was a lot of fun. The cookies are chocolate chip that we we made as one big cookie and then cut out the  Halloween shapes after it was baked. It worked like a charm! This week we are going to work on getting healthy and continuing with the Halloween fun. I hope your weekend was a great one!

AROUND HERE

Well, this weekend was a lot less eventful than we had planned. I caught a cold so we mostly hung out around the house, drew pictures, built lego structures and made peach lemonade. The lemonade was heavenly. I'm not a huge lemonade person, but this is worth making. Also, I have finally been fiddling with and starting to learn illustrator! Up until now I have made everything graphics wise using word. I know. It's insane. I am pretty excited about all of the things I can make now! There is one that will be showing it's face here tomorrow. Is your interest peaked yet? Good! Then we'll see you back here tomorrow. Hope your weekend was a great one!

We had so much fun this weekend! Friday was spent hanging out at home, playing marble run and finger puppets. Saturday Elliott got to have a sleep over with his cousins and Preston and I had an awesome date night. We went to dinner at a fondue restaurant (Preston's first time!) and it was so much fun. Not to get too sappy or anything, but there isn't anyone I would rather spend 2+ hours doing fondue with. And it didn't hurt that the food was crazy good. Then after dinner we went and saw Enough Said, if you can go see it, we recommend it. It was cute and funny and pretty realistic. Sunday was my dad's birthday so we celebrated and showered him with gifts, great food and pie. He's not a huge cake fan, but he's a big fan of pie! It really was a great weekend. I hope your weekend was equally awesome! Happy Monday!

AROUND HERE

This weekend, we made the best of the last day of Summer. We went to the park, we skipped rocks in a creek, and we had a movie night (E.T. Elliott watching Elliott. How cute is that?) as if school hadn't started and bed time didn't matter. That last one is more of a reflection of bad parenting. But you get the idea. Even though the park was fun and the creek was magical, my favorite part of this weekend was something simple. We have been working with Elliott to learn how to spell his name for the last while, but without success. Then last night, out of nowhere, he did it! He spelled his name with out any help whatsoever! He says they have been practicing at school too, which would explain his lack of interest when I try and teach him when he gets home. No matter where he learned it, I am thrilled! People misspell his name all the time. When I named him, I thought I was giving him a "classic" name. One that wouldn't be misspelled or mispronounced his whole life (like my name!) but one that wasn't super common either. But ever since he was born, people misspell it. Sorry, kid. I thought I was doing you a favor. But now that he knows how to spell his name, he can correct it when it is misspelled! It's' all about the small triumphs, people. So for anyone who is interested, here is proof:
Hope your week is off to a great start!

This weekend was packed full of fun for us. I didn't even get to work on my projects! The fair was a blast. There was no one there do to the off and on rain, so Elliott had first choice of rides and exhibits! He loved it. On Saturday we ventured out to a new to us pizza place and to the park for a bit of fun in the rain. I was wishing we had a little toy boat to put in the gutters. It was really raining! Then later that night we picked up some milkshakes from one of our favorite places and headed home to watch The Princess Bride (Elliott's first time!) It was a lot of fun. I hope you had a fun weekend as well!
