WALK OF FAME BALLOONS

For our upcoming Oscars party I thought it would be fun to give the kids their own "walk of fame" of sorts. Originally I was going to make the stars out of cardboard and gold duct tape, but then I saw these stars at the party store on sale and thought I would save myself a few minutes. They even come with holes at the top, waiting to be attached to a balloon! To make the names, I just used black duct tape and cut the letters out by hand. You could draw them on with marker, or have kids write their own names! I have said it before and I will say it again. Kids love seeing their own name. They love it. I'm pretty confident these balloons will be a hit with the kiddos at our Oscars party this weekend.

VALENTINE WORD SEARCH

Valentine Word Search

Happy Valentine's Day! To bring our week to a close and keep the love brewing all weekend here's one more printable for you. A word search! It's more romantic than you might think. It is obviously more for kids who are a bit older. You know, the ones who can read and appreciate a good word search. I loved word searches when I was a kid. It felt like finding buried treasure, but with words. So if you are in a last minute valentine bind, you can print this little beauty out over here on Handmade Charlotte! The little heart guys are my favorite. I think they need to be made into a tattoo, am I right? Enjoy the word search!

The other day Elliott and I were at the party store and we saw these animal masks for super cheap and I thought they would make for some pretty fun valentines! I'm a big fan of valentines that don't involve sugar. Not that I am anti-sugar, but I am pro fun. What kid doesn't love a great animal mask? The tags say "There's no masking it I'm wild about you". Valentine's day is the holiday for puns. Don't you think? You can download the tags here. Just print them off, cut and tape them on! Easy, right? Have a wild day!

VALENTINE PARTY STRAWS

We are heading out for the weekend, but before we do we have one more project for you. Are you getting pumped up for Valentine's day? We are! When I was growing up, my mom used to make us themed breakfasts for holidays and we kids loved it. I am trying to keep up the tradition with Elliott by making some themed items for his breakfasts like pink pancakes etc. These straws are super fast to make and a lot of fun to use and they are perfect for Valentine's day! You can see the full tutorial over here on Momtastic

WATERCOLOR GIFT BAGS

Like a lot of kids, Elliott is really into painting. He paints most days and most days his choice of paint is watercolor. Of course I love it too, so that might have something to do with it. For his birthday, I wanted to wrap his gifts in something he would love and when I saw these white paper bags I knew they would be perfect for watercolor. Most gift bags you'll see have a shiny coating on them which would prevent you from doing much of anything fun with it. This is just thick white paper so it makes for a great blank canvas. To make your own, just grab some paper gift bags (I found mine at our local party store), stick something like cardboard inside before you start painting to prevent the paint from bleeding through, and go to town with your mad art skills!  They are really easy to make and I guarantee the kiddos will love it. And what would be even more fun, let the kid do the painting for a little friend's gift! Both kids will get a kick out of it.
