CONSTELLATION FLASHLIGHT DISCS

I don't know anyone who doesn't love star gazing. With this flashlight and discs you can bring the star gazing inside! Though the shorter days can really bum me out, I thought I should make it a little more fun for Elliott. This DIY is so easy and fun to use. Not to mention it's educational! It will work for pretty much any shape you desire to cast on the wall, but the constellations are pretty awesome. You can see the full tutorial over here on Handmade Charlotte

ELLIOTT + E.T. COSTUME

After the skeleton idea went out the window (fickle child) we were pretty excited when Elliott decided he wanted to be Elliott for Halloween. As in Elliott from E.T. And yes, they spell their names the same. This is the easiest and totally practical costume. We had just about everything he needed already and what he didn't have, is completely usable after Halloween! I love it. The E.T. doll would probably be the hardest thing to find. Elliott was given it when he was born (it's a family favorite) but if you can find the doll, the rest is a cake walk. When someone asks Elliott what he is going to be for Halloween he replies "I'm going to be Elliott from E.T. at the ending when E.T. goes home." Such a clear explanation. To attach the milk crate to the bike, I just used a couple of zip-ties. Worked like a charm. And if using a bike seems like too much of a hassle, you can just attach the milk crate to the jeans with a belt! Hands free for candy grabbing. It's all about the candy grabbing.

This is Elliott's impression of what it would be like to start flying on a bike with E.T. Scared at first, then hands in the air having a blast. Man I love this kid.

AROUND HERE

This weekend was great. We have loved seeing my grandparents again and just hanging out with family. Elliott and his cousins as always, had a grand time playing together. It was fun watching them get excited about all the different colored leaves and run up to show them to me like it was all new for me too. Kids are the best. And Elliott continued his obsession with pumpkin decorating. Isn't it cute? It's a pumpkin self-portrait. Such a likeness! Also Preston and I snuck in a little date night and found a new to us amazing Indian restaurant and saw Wadjda. If you can see it, please do. This week will be a lot like this weekend. Lots of hanging out with family mixed with real-life and trying to get some work done. I hope your weekend was great and your Monday is off to a good start!

P.S. If you are a Wes Anderson fan, you have to see this

SIAMESE PUMPKINS + HAPPY WEEKEND!

We are really looking forward to this weekend. My grandparents are coming to town and we are pretty excited about it! We have a weekend packed full of fun fall festivities and Halloween goodness. It's going to be a blast. And how about this pumpkin? Siamese pumpkins! We saw it at the pumpkin patch and knew we needed to give it a good home. And possibly some faces. I hope you are in for an amazing weekend as well. Until Monday, happy weekend!

WE LOVE: CORNBELLY'S

We have gone to Cornbelly's every October since Elliott was one year old. There is so much for the kids to do and there is plenty for the whole family to enjoy. And then there is Preston, who loves even playing on all the kiddie stuff. Which is a big reason why I love that man of mine. They have big slides, bouncy pillows and tons of playgrounds strategically placed throughout. And of course, there is the corn maze. Also, their corn dogs and fries are pretty amazing. We always go at least once during the month of October (when it's open) and we usually go with Elliott's cousins and other local family. Again, everyone has a blast! If you have the chance to go to Cornbelly's we highly recommend it. And if you can go on a weekday, it is SO much better than the weekend. Less crowded means less stress for parents with children who wander. Cornbelly's, we love you. Until next year!

You''l have to excuse the picture overload. It was hard enough to cut it down this much!
