TOY STORY PARTY!

Toy Story Party! | And We Play

Elliott recently turned six (HOW IS HE SIX?!) and he requested a Toy Story themed party. He's kind of obsessed and I was happy to oblige. Of course, I am sure he had the party store decorations in mind. You know, the cheesy, hideous ones. That's just not my style. Ha! So I created my own version. It was simple and easy and most importantly fun!

For the cupcake toppers, I made what I call pixar balls. You know the ball the lamp jumps on at the beginning of ever pixar movie? It makes cameos in a lot of their films, but the first was Toy Story! I don't think everyone recognized them, but that's ok by me.

The toys were the main decorations. Elliott has quite a collection going and we added a few he didn't have to the decor and had them double as gifts. He loved walking in the room and seeing the new toys!

Ok. Let's talk about the letter balloons. I cannot say enough wonderful things about these balloons. I got the letters I needed to spell out "Lets Play" and "Howdy" and strung them up with fishing line. To me, the balloons really made the party! The best part? They are REUSABLE. That's right. You can inflate and deflate and reuse them for your next bash. Incredible! You can get them from a lot of party stores etc. but they are made by the amazing and wonderful Northstar Balloons.

The show stopper was probably the backdrop. I wanted to in a way, recreate Andy's wallpaper from the first Toy Story movie. You know, the clouds. It was simple enough, but a little time consuming. But TOTALLY worth it, right? Right. To make it, we just used blue streamers and attached them ceiling to floor vertically with sticky tack. Then we used double-sided tape to attach the cut out clouds to create a similar pattern. It was perfect for our party and our friends and family seemed to love it as much as we did!

Some other party details! I made a pin the tail on bullseye game for the kids to play and somehow managed to not get a single picture of it! Bad blogger. The kids loved it, so that's what matters. At least that's what I keep telling myself. Ha! We also had the genius idea to have the Toy Story soundtrack playing in the background. This was the perfect magical touch! It made us feel like we were at Disneyland hanging out with Woody and Buzz. I think this was probably one of Elliott's favorite parts too. That boy loves the details! All in all it was a great way to celebrate and we all had a blast.
