WE LOVE: ENDLESS ALPHABET

If you have little ones and you don't already have Endless Alphabet, get it. It's the best app! Elliott has learned so many more letters and the sounds they make. He's just a few steps away from reading. And his vocabulary has increased a ton! Not only is Endless Alphabet super educational, it's a lot of fun and the illustrations are amazing. I love sitting with Elliott and watching him play it so I can see the little cartoons at the end of each word he spells. I have to admit, I have never paid for an app, let alone one that costs $5. But the reviews were too good not to give it a try. And boy am I glad I did! Best $5 I ever spent. Except for that one time I bought a pair of Elton John sunglasses at a gas station for $5. This app is tied with those sunglasses.
Here's a little demo video. Isn't it adorable?

SHAPES PARTY BLOWERS + GARLAND DIY

I decided to do a two-for-one DIY this week since last week I went a little MIA. But you forgive me, right? These party blowers and garland are so easy to make and a lot of fun for little ones. Elliott loved trying out all of the different shapes. He calls the heart the "love you shape", even though he knows its called a heart. That cutie. All you need to make these are some card stock, shape paper punchers and a 1/2 inch hole punch. Oh yeah, and some party blowers. Just punch out the shapes, punch out the hole with the 1/2 inch punch and stick them in. They're that easy! Of course you can do any colors you would like and any shapes you fancy. You can also just cut out the shapes if you don't have shaped paper punches.
For the garland, pick a shape - or all of them - and punch out the shapes. Grab some twine and some tape and put it together. Again, it's that easy.
Then just hang the garland, and get to partying!

AROUND HERE

Well, I wasn't really expecting to take most of last week off from the blog, but that's the way it goes sometimes I guess! This weekend happened to be Elliott's half birthday so we had a great time partying with some friends and just doing fun things he requested. He was a very lucky boy and got a toy he's been begging for for probably a year. We like being withholding. I have to say I was afraid it might be one of those buys that he is excited about and then gets over after a day of non-stop playing, but he has been completely inseparable! Which I like to see. Preston and I went on a mini-date and had the best beef brisket known to man. Melt in your mouth good. Doesn't need any sauce or salt good. That good. Basically it was an awesome weekend. Happy Monday!

AROUND HERE

This weekend Elliott and I decided to have a little impromptu date and head down to the farmers market. Besides driving around for 20 minutes looking for parking, we loved it! We picked out some peaches and raspberries that were unbelievably good and have been snacking on them all weekend. I wanted to find the brazilian cheese bread booth because, who can resist some pan de queso? And we bought a few french pastries as well. It made for a great little lunch at the park. It was a perfect date! On Sunday, Elliott insisted on doing his own hair (heaven help me) and we played some games and Elliott got to bed before eight! It was a miracle! I hope you had a wonderful weekend and that your week is off to a great start.

HAPPY WEEKEND!

This week went by unusually fast for me. Maybe a sign that it was also a busy week? This weekend we are hoping to do a little grilling, heading to the park, riding scooters and playing a new game we're pretty excited about. We hope! The temperatures have gone down a few degrees so it would be nice to take advantage of some weather that won't melt your skin. Hope your weekend is a blast!
