USA TANK DIY

In honor of the fourth of July, I made Elliott this tank top. Well, I made the stencil and painted it. I wanted to make him something I could imagine putting on him to wear any other day of the year and not just the fourth of July. So I made this map! I think it turned out pretty well and if you would like one for your own littles, you can see the full tutorial over here on Momtastic.

WE LOVE: ANNIE K BLAKE

My good friend Annie had her very first art show last week and we were all so excited to go and support her. Not to mention we adore her art. Annie has such a refreshing and different style that I am constantly envious of. I have wanted one of her comma paintings for a while and was so happy to be able to finally buy one at her show. Isn't it rad? You can't see it, but there is gold leafing along the edges. Perfection! It was hard not to buy some cropped paintings too. Don't these look like an exhibit you might see at the MOMA? Elliott even liked the paintings. Though, he thought that an art show was going to be like a dance recital and that we were going to be able to watch Annie paint something. Sorry little man. He was stoked to spend some time with his gal pal and eat as many cookies as he could carry. It was a great family outing. AROUND HERE

This weekend went pretty much as expected. The pool party was a blast and Elliott cried when we had to leave. A good sign that he had a great time! Saturday night was boys night. Preston and Elliott built a fort, ate pizza, watched a movie and slept in the fort. Which meant I got to hang out in my room and have the bed all to myself! It was glorious. Maybe a sign we need a larger bed? This upcoming week will be a doozy. Loads of projects and work to get done so we can have a fun 4th of July. Do you have any plans for the 4th? HAPPY WEEKEND!

Last night we went to a good friend's art show which was awesome and a total blast. But more on that next week! We are just about to head out the door to a pool party - our first of the summer! I'm ready to be rid of this pasty white farmers tan. We don't have a lot planned for this weekend, but it's supposed to be in the 100's so we'll most likely be in cool bodies of water, or cool air conditioned rooms. We're wimps. We love summer, but not Arizona temperatures summer. Hope you all have a great weekend! 

IF YOU DIDN'T ALREADY KNOW

Most of you probably know by now that as of July 1st, google reader will cease to be. I was pretty upset when I found out about it a few months ago. I had no idea what other options there were out there for readers. So the search began and I finally decided that Feedly was my new reader soul mate. It took me a few days to get used to it, but now I wonder why I was even using google reader in the first place. It's that much better. Especially aesthetically. So, so much better. So if you use google reader, and haven't done it already, you will need to transfer your list-o-blogs to a new reader (super easy) like Feedly. And I would be honored to be one of the blogs you read daily! So if you want to keep seeing chunky leg goodness, you'll want to switch your reader over. Just sayin'.
